This delightful little entry from Former Yuguslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) this year is their version of a power ballad. Starting slow, with piano preludes and violins, the song heightens into a throaty, melodic refrain and a rock beat. Macedonia is aiming high in Eurovision this year....will their aims be fulfilled with Kaliopi?

"This Is The Night" on 22.May for Malta!

This is Kurt Calleja's night. The young, handsome singer in his 20s seeks to impress with a pop-song called "This Is The Night", with an upbeat rhythm. Will his feel-good song convince Europe? Kurt is definitely a good-looking guy and the melody has some catchy parts, which may bring Malta to the final.

Moldova hits an enthusiastic note with "Lautar"

His moustache is what makes Pasha Parfeny stick out most. Or is it his enthusiastic dancing in "Lautar"? Listeners will find the dance moves fresh and vibrant, the melody a fusion of folk and pop. Well, at least Moldova did not send dancing garden gnomes this time :D Let's hope this song scores high for Pasha.

Rambling Montenegro with "Euro Neuro"

It's all about Europe for Rambo Amadeus - or is it? Rambo's political song deals about the Euro-Crisis, pollution and rheumatism :D However, it also lacks a melody. It's clear Montenegro wants to send a message here to whole of Europe...but must this happen at Eurovision? Well, at least the "song" scores with humor. Hopefully he brings the donkey on stage if he's in the final. Our rambling Euro-critic.
